Invitation to All Bibliophiles!

As a writer, I have always been passionate about the written word. A deep and abiding love for books is the kind of thing that brings people together from all ages, countries, and walks of life and knits them together into a community that welcomes and revels in exploring their interests together. The dialogues that take place when people discuss their favorite books are always exciting and invigorating, and as someone who loves reading, I would like to open my blog to my fellow bibliophiles far and wide and invite everyone to share your love for reading.

This summer, my family and I read the D’Artagnan novels by Alexandre Dumas for the first time. Most people are only aware of the first and last books in the series, The Three Musketeers and The Man in the Iron Mask, but there is actually another book called Twenty Years After that takes place between them, and The Man in the Iron Mask is only the last part of a larger novel, The Vicomte de Bragelonne. We read the entire series and enjoyed it immensely. Twenty Years After is an exciting story that pits the musketeers against Mordaunt, the son of their nemesis Milady who is seeking revenge for the death of his mother. The Vicomte de Bragelonne is full of political intrigue that may seem tedious on the surface, but Dumas’s lively prose carries the story smoothly ahead to the exciting conclusion that most readers are more familiar with as The Man in the Iron Mask.

What was your favorite summer read this year? Do you have a favorite book or series that you read every year, perhaps during the lazy, golden days of summer that are so filled with sunshine and magic? Or maybe you’re the type who prefers to curl up with a new book on the cold, gloomy days of autumn and winter. Whatever you love about reading, feel free to share it here, even a favorite news article or recipe you’ve recently discovered! I look forward to discussing the marvelous world of books with all of you.
